# Tuesday 5th May

English: LO: To create a miniature book.

If you're anything like me- you have been making the most of being able to get stuck into a really good book and if you're really creative you may have even had a go at writing your own book... but have you thought about putting it together so it looks just like one that you might pluck off the shelf in the library? The link below will take you to the British Library website which will then give you lots of information about 'miniature books' which were created over 200 years ago.

The page gives you step-by-step guidance on making your very own 'miniature book'. Your book will have 16 pages (tiny ones!) that you can fill with whatever you like- it could be a short story written in words, it could be a short stort told through just pictures, it could be an atlas, an information book on your favourite animal? It is entirely your choice!

Send your miniature books to me on j2e! I'd love to see them!

Maths:

Miss Hughes’ group – L.O. To answer reasoning and problem solving questions about equivalent fractions

Today you will be using the knowledge of equivalent fractions you gained yesterday, to answer reasoning and problem solving questions. It might be worth having a labelled place value grid handy to help you. I have put the link for yesterday’s video below so you can watch this again to help you if you need it.

I have attached Bronze, Silver and Gold activities for you to try. Remember, you don’t need to do all of the sheets. Do the one you are most confident with and then challenge yourself to try the next level.

Mrs. Gregory & Mrs. Postlethwaite’s group – L.O. To answer reasoning and problem solving questions about making a whole

Today’s lesson is a chance for you to show your understanding about making a whole to answer reasoning and problem solving questions. You can use pictures or concrete resources to help you. Always have your place value grid to hand as this will also help your understanding. I have put the link for yesterday’s video below so you can watch this again to help you if you need it.

I have attached Bronze, Silver and Gold activities for you to try. Remember, you don’t need to do all of the sheets. Do the one you are most confident with and then challenge yourself to try the next level.
