English L.O: To write a setting description.

Activity 1: Listen to  Chapter 17 AND Chapter 18 of 'Skellig' on the Learning --> Stories page of the website. 

In Chapter 17, the following three things are mentioned:

  • William Blake
  • Pneumatisation
  • Archaeopteryx

Activity 2: Use the 'Chapter 17 Research Sheet' below to find out what you can about these 3 things. Answers are attached for you to compare yours to once you have filled your sheet.

Activity 3: Watch the following clip titled 'Broken: Rock, Paper, Scissors'. As you are watching, pick out and make note of any of the emotions from the list below that you see through the characters body language,

Activity 4: Watch the beginning of the clip again. Now choose one of the three characters and describe the setting from their perspective. Try to make it clear through your choice of vocabulary who the character is that you have chosen. It may help you to use a thesaurus for this activity. See an example of a setting description I have written from Paper's perspective attached below ('Example Setting Description').

History L.O: To understand the importance of television to British people in the 20th century.

Activity 1: Open up the file below titled 'Matching Pairs' and try to match the important television moment to its matching description.

Activity 2: Read the information below and complete the activity on Slide 1.

Activity 3: Attached below are 4 sources of information (titled 'TV Sources 1-4). Open up and look carefully at each source. Each one will tell you something different about how people of the past felt about television. Use the 'Source Enquiry Sheet' (also attached) to compare how people used to think about television to how we think about television today.
