Friday 26th June

Happy Friday Skylarks. I hope you have had fun outdoors enjoying the sunshine this week. It has been hot in school but we managed to find some shade. Have a lovely weekend and I'll speak to you all on Monday.

Mrs Shelley

Open up the PDF below and get creative.

Maths: We have spent the last two weeks learning all about 2D and 3D shapes. Use your maths time today to either revisit any days which you might not have completed the maths activities or click through these quizzes below to test your knowledge.

RE Activity:  Stories from different faiths

This week I would like you to watch the video link showing you the stories from the Sikh Faith:

Duni Chand and the Silver Needle

The Milk and the Jasmine Flower

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/religious-studies-ks1-sikh-stories/zngv47h

These stories teach special messages about the choices people make and the values people can choose to live by. Think about those messages.

Which of these messages do you think the stories try and teach? Have a discussion with someone in your house and see if they agree with you.

  • If you are very rich you are very important.

  • Being kind is more valuable than owning lots of stuff.

  • There is only room for one type of religion and everyone must believe the same thing.

  • Helping others is a good thing to do.

  • Having time and space to accept other people is important.

  • Ignoring people who are poor is okay.
