Early Years Foundation Stage
The level of progress children should be expected to have attained by the end of the EYFS is defined by Early Learning Goals (ELGs), which are spread across the seven areas of learning and development. A ‘good level of development’ (GLD) can be defined as a child reaching the ‘expected’ level of development at the end of their reception year, at the end of EYFS. It is an outcome of a summative assessment based on learning outcomes in regard to the prime areas of learning

Y1 Phonics Screening check
The phonics screening check is a check of your child’s phonics knowledge. It helps your school confirm whether your child is making the progress expected in the national curriculum.
If a pupil does not meet the expected standard at the end of year 1, a programme of support should be put in place and their teacher will consider a re-take in year 2.

Multiplication tables check
When your child is at Y4 they will be participating in the multiplication tables check (MTC) in June. The purpose of the check is to determine whether your child can fluently recall their timetables up to 12, which is essential for future success in mathematics.

Key Stage 2 tests
If you have a child in Y6 at the end of (KS2), they will take national curriculum assessments in English grammar, punctuation and spelling, English reading and mathematics.
