Comparing Climates

In Geography this week, year 5 and 6 have been comparing the climates of both Worcester and Athens.

We began the lesson by learning what the Geography of Greece is like. Using at atlas, we marked on specific landmarks, such as Athens, Crete and Mount Olympus. Then, we used meteorological data to plot two-line graphs comparing the average temperature in degrees Celsius throughout the year for Athens and Worcester and the average rainfall in mm. We then used this information to answer questions which directly compare the climates of these two cities. The children worked hard to be very precise and their outcomes were fantastic.
