We had a quick and easy journey to Cardiff. We dropped our bags off and walked to the Castle. In the shade of the Castle walls the children enjoyed their packed lunches and then explored inside. From the top of the Norman Keep, you can see right across the city on the one side and towards the hills of Caerphilly on the other. A few were locked in the stocks. After our Castle expedition, the children settled into their dorms and made their beds in preparation for the first room inspection. Dinner was curry with rice and chips, followed by a chocolate brownie. Bowling was well enjoyed. After this, we sat in front of the Senedd and watched the light fade over Cardiff bay, looking towards Penarth (and enjoyed a little Dominoes pizza for supper as the children had been fantastic). All are now settled down to bed in their dorms for the night.
