Trash to Trashion!

Almost half the children in our school designed, created and modelled some fantastic, inspiring and truly fashionable outfits on the catwalk!
This year’s Green Day celebration was made extra special by our Whole School Trashion Show, a truly unforgettable event held in our beautiful Wildlife Area. Nearly half of our pupils took part in this unique and creative competition, proudly showcasing outfits they had designed and made entirely from recycled and reusable materials.
The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as children took to the catwalk to show off their imaginative creations. From bottle-top accessories and newspaper dresses to cardboard capes and crisp packet trousers, the variety and ingenuity on display was astonishing. Each outfit told a story—not just of artistic flair, but of thoughtful choices about sustainability and reducing waste.
The show was accompanied by lively music, which gave extra energy to the performances and had everyone clapping along. What made the event even more special was the confidence and pride shown by our young designers. Many stepped forward to explain the inspiration behind their outfits and how they had been made. It was heartwarming to see pupils who are often shy truly shine, speaking clearly and enthusiastically about their designs and their eco-friendly message.
Teachers, support staff and classmates all cheered and supported each other, making the show a real celebration of creativity, courage, and community spirit. The judging was incredibly difficult, with awards given for categories such as Best Use of Materials, Most Eco-Friendly, Most Creative, Best Catwalk Performance, and Best Overall Design. Every participant also received a special certificate to mark their amazing efforts.
We are so proud of everyone who took part, and so grateful to all who helped make this event a success. It was a powerful reminder of how fun, fashion, and sustainability can come together to make a real impact.
