Yr 5/6 Netball tournament at Chantry on Monday 17th March
Published 21/03/25Playing very fast-paced games with two substitutions each half, each player played in every different position on the netball court and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We had four tough matches against local primary schools and played some brilliant netball, showing good throwing and catching skills, as well as defence, shooting and of course, getting into space.
In our first match against Great Witley we won 3:0 with two great goals by Benji and one by Alana. In our second match against Hallow we won 2:1 with another goal by Benji and one from Daisy. Our third match against Martley was a very tight 1:0 victory with Evelyn the game’s only scorer. And our final match against Grimley was our only loss, 6:5, with goals from Ava, Athena and Benji again.
At the end of the tournament, the points were added up and we were joint leaders with 16 points each, but our goal difference was better so we were declared the winners and now we get to compete at the West Worcestershire competition later in March.
It was so good to see all the children putting everything into the matches, playing fair, encouraging each other and being so proud of their achievements.
