Playing very fast-paced games with two substitutions each half, each player played in every different position on the netball court and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We had four tough matches against local primary schools and played some brilliant netball, showing good throwing and catching skills, as well as defence, shooting and of course, getting into space.
In our first match against Great Witley we won 3:0 with two great goals by Benji and one by Alana. In our second match against Hallow we won 2:1 with another goal by Benji and one from Daisy. Our third match against Martley was a very tight 1:0 victory with Evelyn the game’s only scorer. And our final match against Grimley was our only loss, 6:5, with goals from Ava, Athena and Benji again.
At the end of the tournament, the points were added up and we were joint leaders with 16 points each, but our goal difference was better so we were declared the winners and now we get to compete at the West Worcestershire competition later in March.
It was so good to see all the children putting everything into the matches, playing fair, encouraging each other and being so proud of their achievements.
As part of their science topic of 'Electricity', Kestrels were set a number of different challenges involving making circuits containing bulbs, buzzers and motors. They were able to draw on their prior learning in DT,when they made electrical posters, to help them with these. The children then drew their circuits to show the components they used.
On World Book Day, children took part in a series of exciting activities that sparked their creativity and love for reading. They embarked on a thrilling treasure hunt, created wacky nonsense words, designed magical vehicles from craft supplies, and made colourful masks inspired by their favourite characters. The day was filled with laughter and imagination, leaving students with unforgettable memories and a passion for books!
On Tuesday, Year 5 and 6 had a fantastic afternoon taking part in a STEM a challenge which involved creating a loader or hauler using k'nex. Our leader, Sara, was incredibly impressed by the creativity and teamwork the children demonstrated and we are incredibly proud of Charlie and Lewys who will be taking part in a wider, county STEM challenge in Worcester as a result of their winning vehicle.
