To celebrate St David's Day last week, we have been flying our Welsh flag
We had a very clumsy afternoon in Merlins. Miss Larner managed to spill raisins in the flour, paper-clips in the rice, sand into a jug of water as well as pouring lots of salt into Mrs. Gregory's glass of water! The children were set the challenge of separating each of these mixtures and solutions back into their original components by choosing the most appropriate method.
World Book Day 2023 was an exciting day, where we took a closer look at the story of Alice in Wonderland.
Is all water the same? This is the question Merlins were trying to answer this afternoon. They were investigating spring water, tap water, seawater and pond water to see if there were any differences in what remained after the water evaporated.
Each year group completed their laps of the schools in bour termly cross country event.
Following mental healths week, the children produced well-being butterflies
This week we have finished The Iron Man by Ted Hughes.
Waving flags and cheering - Year 1 & 2 pupils represent Abberley at the Mini Olympics Festival.
We had lots of fun using our running, throwing, balancing and team skills to race against other local primary schools. All the children demonstrated excellent team work and PE skills. It was a very enjoyable evening, and I am sure the team all slept extremely well as they continuously ran and jumped all evening. Well done everyone.
It started to feel a lot like spring this week and with that came the chance to get back onto our school field.
Following the RSPB garden birdwatch, our wildlife group have been busy trying to attract more birds.
