Monday 13th July

English: To understand what authors do and review a book you’ve enjoyed.

Today you're all going to take part in a BBC Bitesize lesson all about authors. This lesson will help you understand what job authors do and what it takes to write a story of your own. It also includes listening to an extract from one of my favourite books 'My Naughty Little Sister' by Dorothy Edwards. I have shared a few of these stories with you already- see if you recognise this one.

Complete the 3 activities and share your work on j2e. Click this link to go to today's lesson

Maths:

Today’s task is covering our work on time. You will be answering questions on months and years, hours in a day, telling the time to 5 minutes and to the minute, am and pm, 24 hour clock, finding and comparing duration, start and end times and measuring time in seconds. Make sure you read the questions carefully and remember there are 60 minutes in an hour!

Mrs. Gregory & Mrs. Postlethwaite’s group: L.O. To complete consolidation work on statistics

Today’s task is covering our work on statistics. You will be answering questions on interpreting chart, line graphs and understanding the words ‘comparison’, ‘sum’ and ‘difference’. Make sure you read the scale on the charts very carefully.

Outdoor DT: Create a leaf necklace (or any jewellery!)

The tab at the bottom of the page gives you a simple step-by-step guide to creating some fancy jewellery with some leaves in your garden/or collected on a summers day walk. Take a look and have a go- I'd love to see your ideas shared on j2e!
