Local police visit Abberley pupils

Martley and Tenbury Safer Neighbourhood Officer PC Jones attended our school on Wednesday accompanied by a Traffic Enforcement Officer from Malvern Council.

The officers visited different classes to talk to pupils about road safety. Children learnt that double yellow lines mean no waiting or parking at any time, except for Blue Badge holders, and that yellow zigzag areas must never be parked on. This important information will help pupils stay safe when crossing the road, especially as we have both double yellow lines and zigzag markings outside the school.

Afterwards, pupils were given the opportunity to ask the officers questions about what it is like to be a police officer. Lots of thoughtful and interesting questions were asked and answered.
