  • Leavers 2026

    Published 17/07/26

Today, we bid a fond farewell to our Year 6 pupils (and two other children from across the Abberley family)as they completed their final day at Abberley Primary School.

As part of the celebrations, our Reception children presented their Year 6 buddies with handmade cards, thanking them for the kindness, support and friendship they have shown throughout the year. In return, the Year 6 pupils created friendship bracelets for their Reception buddies, leaving them with a special keepsake to remember their time together.

The Buddy System has played an important role in helping our youngest children settle into school life, and it was wonderful to see these friendships celebrated on such a special occasion.

From everyone at Abberley, we would like to wish our Year 6 leavers every success and happiness as they embark on the next stage of their educational journey. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and know they will continue to shine in the years ahead. Good luck all leavers – we will miss you!

  • A visit from outer space?

    Published 04/06/26

Reception and Year 3 were amazed to find a selection of pants blowing round the playground this morning.  The pants were covered in purple glitter and the children eventually decided that they belonged to some aliens and had come from outer space!  We had a busy day doing lots of space and pants themed activities, including writing messages to the aliens, creating some rockets to send the pants back to space and building a brilliant moon buggy. We pegged the pants on the washing line in case the aliens come back for them. Let us know if you see them!

  • Folly Farm Day 3

    Published 03/06/26

After a great night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast, the children were full of energy and ready for their final activity at Folly Farm.
Heading up into the woods, they were split into two teams and challenged to build the best shelter. Working brilliantly together, they gathered long sticks, discussed different ideas, and carefully planned designs that would keep them dry. Their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills were on full display throughout the challenge.

To put their shelters to the test, a very short but localised storm arrived, giving everyone the perfect opportunity to find out just how waterproof their creations really were!

Afterwards, we enjoyed lunch around the campfire, where the children toasted marshmallows and reflected on their adventures.

The children have had a fantastic time throughout the trip and have represented the school wonderfully, consistently demonstrating our school values through their enthusiasm, resilience, kindness, and teamwork. We are incredibly proud of them all.
