Love, grow and flourish together

As we reach the end of another fantastic school year at Abberley Parochial Primary School, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on some of the successes, special moments, and highlights that have made this year one to remember.

Thank you to Parents and carers. Your ongoing support and involvement continue to make a huge difference in the life of our school.  Your support and involvement truly make a difference in the life of our school community.

This year has been filled with achievements that reflect the hard work, talent, and enthusiasm of our pupils. A couple of highlights:

  • Pupils took part in seven cluster sporting events, winning five and coming second in another. Their dedication and sportsmanship were outstanding. I've just found out Abberley has been awarded GOLD in the school Games Mark award for 2024-2025.

  • We proudly completed the wildlife area, now a beautiful and enriching outdoor space for learning and exploration.

  • Refurbishment of the school hall is well underway and scheduled for completion in September, creating an improved space for assemblies, performances, and gatherings.

  • We were thrilled to offer three residential trips this year, giving pupils memorable experiences and opportunities to grow outside the classroom.

  • Our pupils also shone academically, coming second in the Worcestershire STEM Challenge, a fantastic achievement showcasing their curiosity and skills in science, technology, engineering, and maths.

  • Our statutory test results were excellent this year, and we look forward to sharing the full outcomes with you in the autumn. The progress our pupils have made is something we are incredibly proud of.

  • Creativity has flourished across the school as well. From the joyous Christmas carol concert and nativity to our recent evening performances, pupils have shared their talents with confidence and enthusiasm, delighting all who attended. We enjoyed watching Florence's England dance today, and as school were extremely proud of her silver medal.

  • In March we had our Ofsted visit, we are proud that the inspectors recognised Abberley Parochial as being “at the heart of its community.” They praised the warm welcome extended to pupils and families each day and highlighted our ambition and high expectations.
The report confirms that our pupils achieve well and enjoy their time at school. Attendance remains strong, and feedback from families was overwhelmingly positive, a reflection of the collective effort from staff, pupils, and parents alike.

As always, the end of the year means saying goodbye to our wonderful Year 6 pupils as they move on to their next exciting chapter. We wish them happiness and continued success in their new schools. They will always be a part of the Abberley family, and we look forward to hearing about their future achievements. Also, bye to Benji, Joel and Kiiyinca and we wish them well at their new schools.

Our chickens are going to enjoy their summer break with Matilda and her family. so thank you, and hopefully you will have some fresh eggs!

Thank you once again for your continued support throughout the year. I wish you all a restful and enjoyable summer holiday, and I look forward to welcoming you back in September for another exciting year of learning, growth, and achievement.

Wrens

It is hard to believe we have reached the end of term and the children have completed their Reception year.  They have been an absolute joy to teach this year and we are incredibly proud of the progress they have all made.  They have all tackled every single activity with great enthusiasm and determination and hopefully made some very happy memories along the way!   On behalf of myself and the rest of the Wrens' team thank you so much the very thoughtful cards and presents .  The flowers are absolutely beautiful and we will certainly enjoy the treats and spending the vouchers.  We would like to wish you all a very happy and enjoyable summer and we look forward to seeing you in September!

Merlins

Goodbye to my amazing Year 6 pupils. I am so proud of everything you’ve achieved. As you begin this exciting new chapter in high school, I wish you happiness, confidence, and continued success. Keep being kind, curious, and brave. You'll do brilliantly, and I’ll miss you all.

I’m looking forward to seeing the Year 5's rise to the challenge and step confidently into their new roles as Year 6's in September.
