Have a happy summer holidays!

We have made it to the end of the school year and the sun has come out for the holidays!

On behalf of all the staff can I say a huge thank you to the parent community for your continued support throughout this whole school year and to all the individuals who have given up their own time to help out with events, activities, gardening, moving bark chippings, fixing fences, driving diggers, Friends Association, reading in school, taking photographs, DIY jobs, building reading and EYFS sheds! This community spirit is what makes Abberley unique.

Today we said farewell to our Class of 2024 leavers. After an emotional service they have been chauffeured off to their leavers event in style with the thanks of Mr Marriott and his steam engine. Have a great time tonight and I know each and every one of you will continue to flourish and succeed in life.

We also said farewell to Mr Darling, Samuel, Fletcher, Izzy, Sebby, Luca and Albie today.  We wish you the best in your new schools. I have no doubt you will soon settle in and make new friends.

I wanted to take a moment to express sincere gratitude on behalf of all the staff. All of the staff would like me to thank you for all of the kind gifts they have received today. The thoughtfulness and kindness shown by our school community never cease to amaze me.

Finally, I wish you all a wonderful summer holiday and look forward to greeting you all back into school on WEDNESDAY 4th September. Look out for an email from your new teacher at the start of September giving you more information about your new class and routines.

Happy Holidays.

Claire Shelley, Headteacher

Skylarks

In music, we have brought our Oceans project to a close by composing an 8 beat rhythm and performing it using a variety of untuned percussion. Our 8 beat rhythms contained crotchets, quavers, minims or semibreves.
