What a fantastic last week of term, with so much to celebrate, particularly for our year 6 children. I was proud of their hard work, which saw some of the best SATs results in the county and nationally. However, what makes me more proud is the values and kindness that they have demonstrated in their time at Abberley. It's not always plain sailing, but life isn't like that. This group of children have set such a positive example for the rest of the school and genuinely have embraced the opportunities at primary school. They are ready to move on, but I am certain that they will look back on their years with us with great fondness. They are a credit to their families and our school and will be missed at Abberley.
I am grateful for all of the support and kindness that has been shown during my four years as headteacher. I'm certain that I haven't got everything right, but I have tried to listen and build a school which nurtures everyone in its community, treats all with respect and is united in achieving the best for the children. It has been a wonderful four years for me, despite the significant challenges, and I value the connections that I have been able to share with pupils, colleagues and families in our school community. I believe that Abberley Primary School has come through each challenge positively and the children have continued to thrive as a result. The connections I have made with you have brought me fulfilment and I will miss everyone who is part of Abberley Primary School.
Thank you for your patience, support and trust.
Wishing you all a wonderful summer and success in the future.
Yours sincerely,
Joel Turvey
