Maths:

Miss Hughes’ group: L.O. To complete consolidation work on place value

As we are heading towards the end of term, the children would usually complete assessments based on the topics covered over the year. As we are not in school, I am setting consolidation tasks for them to do to allow me to gauge their understanding of each topic. I do not expect the children to answer every question, but they should complete each task to the best of their ability.

Today’s consolidation work is all about place value. You will be asked questions about hundreds, representing numbers to 1000, putting numbers on a number line to 1000, finding 1, 10, 100 more or less than a given number, ordering numbers and counting in 50s. Remember to read each question carefully and have a place value grid handy!

Mrs. Gregory & Mrs. Postlethwaite’s group: L.O. To complete consolidation work on length and perimeter

Today’s task is covering our work on measurement. You will be asked questions about kilometres, perimeter on a grid, perimeter of a rectangle and perimeter of rectilinear shapes. You have only just covered this work, so hopefully it will be fresh in your mind.

English: To learn about biographies and autobiographies.

This week you are going to work on one specific task. You will learn all about 'biographies' and 'autobiographies' and by the end of the week will have the skills to create your own.

Today, we'll start with the basics, learning the differences between a biography and an autobiography.

Click the tab at the bottom of the page to find out more.

....

Now you know all about biographies and autobiographies, it's time to read a biography and answer some questions based on what you have read about the person.

Emmeline Pankhurst (also the name of our class chicken!)

Click the link at the bottom of the page to read a short biography about a lady called Emmeline Pankhurst. There are 3 different sections to the document- a bronze activity (1 star at the bottom of the page), a silver activity (2 stars at the bottom of the page) and a gold activity (3 stars at the bottom of the page). Choose 1 of these to complete.

Try your best to read it yourself, but if you need a little help it's also OK for an adult to read it to you and you to listen carefully and then answer the questions.

Remember to answer in full sentences and check your answers when you have finished.
