Tuesday 2nd June

English: LO: To create an exciting menu.

If you're like me (Miss Hughes) then you will love nothing more than going out (or being taken out!) for dinner. I'm dreaming of walking into restaurants and having my favourite meal placed in front of me. (Hopefully it won't be long!)

It's your task today to design a menu and entice me to visit your restaurant and taste your food. Your menu has to be exciting and imaginative, I would like you to think of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts if possible.

Using 'expanded noun phrases' (see the sheet attached below) to help you 'sell' the food to the customer who is reading the menu.

Maths:

Miss Hughes’ group – L.O. To reason and problem solve converting money

Yesterday you were reminded about converting between pounds and pence and vice versa. Hopefully you remembered that £1 is 100 pence. Today you will be using this knowledge to answer reasoning and problem solving questions. Remember to explain your answers if you are asked to, answering yes or no isn’t explaining!  You can watch the video from yesterday again if you need to.

I have attached Bronze, Silver and Gold activities for today. Pick the one you feel most confident with and, if you complete this, maybe challenge yourself with the next level up.

Mrs. Gregory & Mrs. Postlethwaite’s group – L.O. To reason and problem solve with pounds and pence

Hopefully yesterday’s lesson writing with pounds and pence made sense now that you’ve spent a lot of time writing decimals and using a place value grid.

Music: To learn about musical echoes and simple melodies.

Have a go at Myleene's music class- no instruments from the kitchen needed today!
